Karen Nan Varela is a second generation glass artist and has been creating glass artwork for over thirty-five years.  Her specialty is kilnwork where she almost exclusively uses dichroic glass as her material of choice.  Karen Nan’s signature piece is her heart-shaped cabochons however her collection includes a vast assortment of unique shaped cabochons, pendants, and beads.

 But the talent doesn’t end there.  Karen Nan is also a skilled wire artist.  Combining wire with her glass pieces is simply perfection and is what ultimately makes her gallery jewelry pieces unique and sought after.

 When Karen Nan is not working on her jewelry, she enjoys working on larger sculptural pieces, some of which have been shown in galleries throughout Southern California. 

Glass art is Karen Nan’s passion in life and each piece that she creates reflects her love for this art form!
