Inspired by the song that was the first
dance at my late sister and brother-in-law’s wedding, “The
Keeper of the Stars,” this Art Deco-style necklace is a nod
to the 1920’s and the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville,
Tennessee. I designed this piece to honor them and the
love they shared. The song speaks of the blessings we
receive from the universe that brings love into our lives
which is represented by the sparkling arch embracing the
custom coated, pear shaped German glass cabochon. The
archway is embellished with precious metal-plated cupchain
and 28 pearls representing the 28 days of the lunar
calendar. Within the carved glass of the cabochon is a
picture of a kaleidoscopic field of shooting stars and it is
encrusted with Swarovski crystals. The fringe at the bottom
of the focal swings like a flapper’s dress which reminds us
to dance through our lives, savoring each moment with those
we love.
In addition to the beautiful sparkling
elements in the focal and arch, there is a mix of over 100
Swarovski, Preciosa, and Austrian crystals and pearls that
sparkle like stars in the night sky. Each of these crystals
is surrounded by a mix of precious metal plated seed beads
and iridescent drop beads.
