There
was a time that, when you were getting dressed for an
evening function, you would add the finishing touches by
putting on a cocktail ring. These were glorious confections
of diamonds, rubies, emeralds, flawless turquoises and
sapphires set in fine metals, adding the "wow factor" to the
final evening look. Today some call it "bling", but then, it
was called elegant. This grand style is what I love about
the movies of the 20's through the 50's, showing us that
there was time to spend doing things by traditional
standards like taking time to change for dinner.
A flat
peyote stitched ring band sets the stage for the next beaded
ring in the Rings in Motion series! Peyote stitch, with
increasing, forms the base of a 3-D square that is filled
with small pearls then laced closed with a delicate edging.
The square revolves on a beaded stem with a CZ center. Edged
in pearls this ring may be square but it is oh so regal!
The
3-D square is 1" and the ring size is as desired. |
